A fighter's union needs to happen: The Ali Act...

"That doesn't work for me, brother."

The Ali Act sucks donkey balls. We need one promotion with the majority of talents that has matchmaking control, one belt that means more than the rest, not 12 different sanctioning bodies with belts that mean nothing and 9001 promoters trying to out-scum each other while fights fans want to see get delayed for half a decade.

The Ali Act and the Class Action Lawsuit are being championed by a bunch of bitter ex-UFC bums who are lashing out at Dana and The Fertittas. It's no different in principle from the court case my ex filed against me. They're basically making as much noise as possible until UFC throws alimony and child support money at them, they'll STFU the minute they get paid like Dana's mom did.
A fighter's association being formed exclusive to the UFC, and an agreement being made between them and the UFC (a bill of rights, perhaps) would be a much better solution and far more fan-friendly than expanding the Ali Act.

Some suggestions:
-UFC rankings need to be more formulaic and have zero input from media outlets and Dana White.
-Titles must be defended at least once per year or the champion is stripped, no exceptions.
-Eliminate interim titles.
-Only fighters in the top five can fight for a title.
-Champions can only fight other champions if they both have at least three consecutive title defenses.

Associations can't collectively bargain (it's illegal) so from a monetary standpoint they're out of luck, but they might be able to get something done about the Reebok deal.

Agreed with all of these.

UFC association with mathematical rankings that doesn't require any voting, and rules on championship fights like you've laid them out.

Lol If there is a fighters union nobody’s ever going to fucking fight. Everyone’s going to pull out constantly. They’ll probably have insurance for pulling out of fights and file a grievance for every fucking thing.

MMA was better when fighters couldn’t afford to pull out of fights. Decrease fighter pay if you don’t want fight cards falling apart,

Most don't remember back when the fighters got insurance and "pulling out" started to become a thing.

The fighters never try to actually start a functioning union, only Leslie Smith has
Leslie is not a fighter. Soccer moms and fame seeking girls pretending to play fight is not the same as real mma.

It would be like me trying to start the union.

Want to start making a difference? Watch Bellator, contribute some money to Bellator, and other competitors of the UFC.

Simply complaining, won't help
