Conor doesn't even need to kick them to death or submit them, they'll get outboxed in the octagon. The entire game changes when you add the threat of kicks and takedowns, and Conor would win the boxing exchanges easily because of that.
It'd look like this:
31-3 pro boxer made to look like a total novice on the feet.
What? Even Conor said that Nate Diaz blocked kicks pretty good. You are a complete joker! Did you watch the 2nd Diaz fight? Conor destroyed nates legs with leg kicks lol
Seriously! Stop trolling!
I agree to be a champ...You have to be a jack of all trades, atleast defensively(be defensively good enough to stop high level wrestler shots)....Again I never said Canelo/GGG will beat everybody..Obviously Wrestlers would be a huge problem.Takes longer than that. Conor is good in transitions - using kicks to set up punches, switching from takedown attempts to strikes, etc etc. That takes awhile to develop for most fighters and many never get there.
Broader issue when discussing a specialist: There is no guarantee a certain good boxer would EVER be able to develop into a good MMA fighter, but then again they very well might. But their skill set is a narrow one to use as a base. There are top notch wrestlers who never go anywhere in MMA and ones that become champions....hard to predict.
It's certainly possible. The problem is that MMA isn't just a collection of skills that you compare - its transitioning between these skills, cardio when applying everything together, ability to translate your skill into a MMA environment since so much of subspecialty sports don't apply and don't carry over. That's why you never really know how good someone is until they make the transition....on paper they can look epic and then end up being a giant flop that can't even make it into the bigger orgs, much less dominate them.I agree to be a champ...You have to be a jack of all trades, atleast defensively(be defensively good enough to stop high level wrestler shots)....Again I never said Canelo/GGG will beat everybody..Obviously Wrestlers would be a huge problem.
Also, I agree, it depends on the Boxer...We seen plenty of blackbelts suck in MMA, some people, simply can't transition.
However, Styles matter...and Conor fighting style, is really stand up based, and Nate Diaz has already showed that one way to beat him is boxing....Canelo/GGG have mastered boxing.
Conor is not a great takedown artist or leg kicker....This is why I'm saying Canelo/GGG have a good chance to beat him
Like I said Khabib/Ferguson would probably kill Canelo/GGG because of bad style match ups....but not Conor, he is, the perfect style match up.

I personally would love to see some top boxers make the switch to MMA. I always root for the specialist - Maia, Machida etc are some of my favorite fighters. Maybe we'll see a few try in coming years - ones that are champs but without much fanfare or draw for whatever reason - the mighty mouses of the boxing world perhaps...
Conor's Takedowns and leg kicks arn't something that will take decades to defend....A year will be enough to defend takedowns/leg kicks from Conor's caliber. How do you guys arrive at that one year thing?
