A basic but profound insight on the inside game

If you can extend your arm and they are still at the end of your fist, but can still be hit, that is YOUR long-range. It's relative to the fighter, of course. Mid-range is typically between the elbow and wrist of your extended arm. Crook of the elbow and closer is inside.

Yep, if both boxers had the same height/reach. Thanks for the clarification, my idea on the ranges was definitely off.

No problem, but it's always relative to the reach of the fighters. Meaning, your ranges might not be the same as your opponent's. His mid-range might be your outside, depending on height and reach. Hence why keeping track of and managing distance is of vital importance to fighting.

Yeah I feel that, when sparring people at diffetent sizes. It makes things...complicated...

Nice discussion going on thanks for contributing all, wanted to add two more videos that have more good insight.

From 41 minutes onward, it starts with what @Sinister was talking about maximizing your leverage at the end of your punches, that being your long range but keep watching after that..

Everything prior to the corner advice stuff (watch that too if you want)

P.S: Shout out to FILA :p

Obviously positioning is key but you need good eyes as well. Eyes trained even when you are ducking or getting low.

That drill when mayweather dips to his right super low and throws a 1-2 at the double end repeatedly is insane

Did anyone take a look at the Kenny Weldon vids? There's some great stuff on how to approach the inside, how to turn and control your opponent to minimize taking damage, what to do when you hit the ropes/what to do when you corner someone, etc.
