Yeah boi, over 400lbs now.

Bench Press

I wish my Bench Press would move. I think I must be doing something wrong. Perhaps paying someone to take a look at my technique for a couple of sessions would be worth it.

Sick! Congrats!

Btw, that little "bitch out" as you called it was relatable. It's not something to dwell on, as to not stifle your progress, or keep you from moving forward in life, but a little retrospectiveness once in a while is not a bad thing in my book.

Stay strong brotha and keep up the good work!

No dude I know I'm a giant asshole sucking dicks!

*ahem* .. don't leave you account signed in.

Cheers for the post-- meaning, purpose & long term goals are definitely things you should always keep in the back of your mind, but it's very easy to become lost in them - at least for me. imo most of your energy should be targeted toward short term goals if you ever want to actually get stuff done (something I fail at miserably). That's why moving around weight is so beneficial - you can get outside of your thoughts & dreams for a while, & just focus on something very simple & material for 60+ mins on a regular basis.

Haha I thought you were pulling my leg.

Yeah I know exactly what you mean. That's part of the attraction of lifting weights for me as well. It's something you can control. You set short term goals, you put in the effort, you see the results of your training (hopefully). Life is a lot harder to quantify in that way.

I think it's healthy to have a space where you can let go of the world for a little while.

First time trying these. My grip is shitty & I want to start working on it again, & they're a less boring way to work some extra light deadlifts in for the comp. I pinched with 10kg bumper plates this time.

It's def a unique one! I don't think my arms are long enough for it to really suit me, but I'm gonna stick with it for a little while & see what happens.

Garbage session, kill me.

How close are you to your goal? I once broke a 5 minute mile while having a 500+ dl, but that was over 3 years ago. I nearly kill myself trying to go under a 7 minute mile these days.

I've maxed out with a 495lbs sumo pull & a ~06:30 mile. So the deadlift is practically there, but I still have to really focus on the running. I've been trying to up my conventional pull for the Sherdog DL comp though, so I'm not sure if I'll get there this year. I'll definitely have a really good crack at it some time this year regardless.

Sub 5 mins with a 500+ pull is amazing! What was your training/weight like?

Hey man great log, I have very similair goals.

Have you looked at Smolov jr?
Should be working great for your bench since you're doing so much reps.

I was leaning down from 220 lbs to 190 and focusing more on conditioning and speed at the time. So my deadlift was near 600 at my strongest that year, but fell to low 500's when I broke that 5 minute mile, as opposed to you trying to raise your dl and run a faster mile simultaneously which is harder. You will have to eat your way there.

Do you read wallstreetbets?

Cheers man. I have played around with Smolov jnr before-- it worked really well for my zercher squat. Thanks for reminding me, maybe I should take a run at it with my bench press. What are your goals bro?

Nice man. I was bulking up to about 190lbs, then kinda lost motivation & fell back to 180lbs which is probably my natural weight. I reckon if I focus more on middle distance running I can reach my goals, but it's tricky since I enjoy strength training a lot more.

I do lurk WSB, I'm long FNMA (+ preferreds) & I'm shorting SNAP. How are your bets going m8?
