5 Weapons in Doomsday Scenario

Combination guns are very slowly starting to grow on me. A .30-06 over 12 gauge would be pretty awesome.

Great idea for the upcoming zombie apocalypse! Chainmail or motorcycle leathers would be good alternatives.

1- Handgun: anything in a .45 or 9mm due to the availability of rounds. Eventually you will have to steal or scavenge more ammo.

2- Firearm: again, availability of ammo is a deciding factor. A reliable .22 would be my choice for that reason.

3- Knife: I have always carried a Gerber profile knife in my survival pack/camping gear. Go with what you know.

4- Melee: a decent aluminum baseball bat for durability and reliability seems most practical.

5- Wildcard: a decent tool set could get you into a locked building, help acquire a vehicle without the keys, and if need be a few wrenches tied together with some rope would make a nasty improvised flail.

1. My trusty Remington Model 1858 Army revolver
2. BODY ARMOR (I know, not a firearm but more important than one)
3. My Confederate Bowie knife (Useful tool as well as a weapon)
4. Hatchet (Once again, a useful tool as well as a weapon
5. HARLEY DAVIDSON FATBOY motorcycle with extra saddlebags and rear packs

I like to travel light, carry light, and use my skills to pick up any additional weapons on the way if I have to.

Handgun- It'd have to be the 1911, for a couple of reasons. Obviously, it packs one hell of a punch, and .45 ACP is pretty common wherever you go, so ammo wouldn't be a problem. Down to specifics, I think I'd choose a Swith and Wesson SW1911.

Firearm- Can't go wrong with an AK. Personally, I'd go with an AK-74M with the folding stock.

Knife- SOG knives would be your best bet here, as someone else already alluded to.

Melee- Machete, for one reason, and one reason only (COD and Danny Trejo reference, but I digress):

And finally, Wildcard- Yep.

Nemesis Arms Vanquish. Takedown/backpack rifle chambered in .308win/7.62x51mm NATO for defensive positions with long sightlines. Again, easily found ammo.
