Why doesn't Khabib want to fight Woodley?

Makes no sense to me. Khabib has missed weight twice at LW once to the point of hospitalization. Stylistically speaking he has the style to beat all the LWs and the only guys who pose serious stylistic threats seem to be at WW (Askren, Usman, Maia, Woodley, Colby, etc.) so why doesn't he move up and get that seccond belt if he is obsessed with legacy? That would be the ultimate legacy move to make and it would cement his legacy completely plus it would easily sell a million PPV buys or close to it. Conor could have stayed at FW where he was undefeated and continued to slay those bums but he took on the challenge of moving up and made history by becoming the first two weight world champion. Sure he got stripped and never defended but he still had the balls to move up which is commendable. Khabib should move up or at the very least fight Tony.

130k buys off of Woodley's last fight probably doesn't help

Isn't Khabib a star now? He is the A side right? So he should be able to carry it by himself. Plus this fight really sells itself.

Woodley is a horrible fight for Khabib.

Why not cement his status as one of the best champions in his weight class and then move up? Like all champions should do. Why would he win the title, defend it once and then pretty much be forced to vacate it, if he were to stay at WW?

One step at a time.

If anything, right now you should be bitching at him for not demanding the Ferg fight.

Which is he should fight him if he cares about legacy and taking on the biggest challenges. I want to see Khabib as an underdog for once and most MMA fans should be calling for this fight.

He doesn't seem to be interested in the Tony fight. And legacy wise fighting Woodley is probably the best thing he can do.

1. Fighting guys in his own weight class makes no sense to you?

2. If he did, you'd just say he's ducking LWs

3. Conor couldn't have stayed at LW because he doesn't fight for his own belts and the cut was getting too tough. His coach even said he feels better at LW and that's where they wanted to fight in the first place when he went to the UFC.

i think he'd make more by fighting Ferguson and definitely by fighting Conor again

He'd get smashed by Woodley so moving up really doesn't really interest him

1) If he has in his own weight class why did he miss weight twice? If he was a true LW he would have never missed weight.

2) Nobody would be saying he's ducking LWs if he moved up that's silly because the toughest match ups for him are at WW.

3) Feels better at LW doesn't mean he couldn't continue to fight at FW. He never missed at FW. Plus Khabib would feel a lot better if he didn't have to go through the grueling weight cut at LW.

Woodley is more well known than Ferguson plus is a champion.. the fight would sell way more than Ferguson.

To preserve the 0

Like Khabib said, he is the Floyd Mayweather of MMA and will carefully select his opponents

Conor was a great match up for him, easy fight to accept.

Khabib fans so desperate to protect their guy lmfao. How can you call yourself an MMA fan and not want to see the most competitive fights? Khabib has the style to beat everybody at LW and only the guys at WW pose a real threat.

Whatever Khabib says about legacy, neither he nor his team is stupid. He cares deeply about his undefeated record and it seems like he's figured out his cut to 155. If he were to fight Woodley it would be oppressively likely that he would lose, and without any real financial upside.

Because he’s a LW and has challenges in his division?
Woodley is a WW?
Why is that hard to understand...
This obsession with hopping weighclasses is stupid.

Ferguson did 200k buys against Kevin Lee who had only main evented one fight night show.

After UFC 229 everybody's stock went up including Ferguson

Its a fight that has a lot of hype behind it
