Calvillo's case teaches us, that fighters have no reason to even try to make weight. Here's why:

1. UFC will not cancel the fight regardless
2. The opponent has no choice but to accept the fight anyway, they're afraid to be lesliesmitted
3. minus 20% fee plus 100% win bonus = 80% bonus netto
4. You're still in the title picture, just ask Romero
5. The less you cut, the stronger you'll be

Yup. Sucks for those who follow the rules. Don't think your opponent is really enjoying that 20% - their win bonus

She should be forced to fight naked.

I can also understand those who don't follow the rules.
Who to follow rules for? Corporation?

Just make it so they lose 40% of purse plus other fighter gets win bonus.

Problem solved.

1. OK with Calvillo, but not everyone . Pennington missed weight, and just google "Raquel Pennington thefappening" for the yikes
2. Weren't you supposed to put me on ignore?

The only way the UFC will finally take a stand against weight cutting is if someone dies. They couldn't care less at this point.

I'm not disagreeing with you man. I only stated it sucks for the professionals who bust their ass for something that seems to not really matter.

Name all the champions in ufc history noted for missing weight

They will put all the blame on the team. ALL the blame.
From their POV, they won't do anything wrong.

UFC is not ONE, they don't care.

What happens if both fighters miss weight? Has that ever happened?

In the unfortunate scenario that this ever happens I'm hoping the tsunami of negative media coverage that they will receive will finally force them to take a stand..

What?

Who else would get win bonus?

I mean, according to your suggestion:
If X misses weight and beats Y who made weight, who gets the win bones? Only Y? Or both X and Y?

Meanwhile they stand against all the shitstorms like a rock.

1. I was just referring to Calvillo in my post.
2. I did put you on ignore, but I took you off after UFC 229 because now I see that the McHaters are a million times worse than the McFanboys. Carry on.
