After seeing threads like the one below and seeing people believe that all it takes is one more win for Woodley to become the greatest...

Here's a little reminder for MMA fans with short term memories.

Woodley has 4 title defenses.

1) His first title defense was ruled as a draw.
2) The second one was a majority decision against the same opponent.
3) Third fight broke the record for the least strikes thrown in a UFC title fight. And it was against a 40 year old.
4) Darren Till was probably his first legit title defense.

Here's what GSP's first title defense looked like. At the time, Fitch was considered THE GUY to beat GSP. He was 18-2, undefeated in his last 16 fights.

GSP avenged the 2 only losses on his record and went on to defend his belt 9 times in a dominate fashion having only one controversial win in the last fight of his career as a WW.

All the opponents he fought during that run were on a tear. They were undefeated and some had some insane records.

How does 4 title defenses, 2 of them being shady compare to 9 title defenses?
How does losing 3 times compare to avenging your 2 only losses?

Let's not forget Woodley has a record of 19-3-1

4 of the wins in those 19 wins are by split decision. Several of his wins are some of GSP's scraps. Passed their prime.

Considering Woodley as the greatest WW is beyond ridiculous. GSP is considered by many the P4P greatest MMA fighter to ever live. How does it make any sense to claim that Woodley is the GOAT or could be with 1 or 2 more wins? That would equate to him being the P4P greatest which is absurd.

End of rant.
 
Completely fuckin agree, Woodley isn't even a better WW than Matt Hughes in terms of greatness and championship reign let alone GSP

Currently Woodley destroys any version of GSP hence why GSP is ducking him.

Also Woodley never tapped to strikes or beat up a bunch of smaller opponents, the opposite actually.

Looking at Woodley's record right now.

I mean how ridiculous is it that Woodley fought Jay Hieron in 2013. GSP fought that guy back in fuckin 2004

Woodley also has wins over a washed up, old Koshcheck, Carlos Condit. Lost to Jake Shields.

All opponents that GSP beat in their absolute prime several years before.

If you look at Woodley's 4 split decisions, plus all the passed their prime fighters mentionned above, that 19-3-1 record is weak sauce.

You know it's a sad day as an MMA fan when people start thinking a win over Colby Covington would cement Woodley as the GOAT. Colby freakin Covington lol.. How weak can the WW be.

Matt Hughes is really underrated these days. The shadow of GSP has obscured him, but he is easily the #2 WW of all time.
