Betting against yourself sounds like it could be illegal but what about betting on yourself to win in a certain round or by submission/knockout/decision?
It's up to the sports book's discretion. That's probably why he was delayed. Besides it was Floyd, and he was boxing Conor.floyd tried to bet on himself to win by a specific round and method, but was denied. not sure if it's the athletic commission that determines the legality, and/or if it applies to mma, but i suspect it would.
however, it's legal to bet on yourself to win.
"Mayweather attempted to place a $400,000 bet on the fight ending under 9.5 rounds at -200 odds, but according to a source, there were concerns over the legality of a fighter betting on anything other than a straight win, which caused a delay.
Mayweather then tried to bet on himself to win by knockout, but was unhappy about having to wait to place the wager and left without getting the bet down, the sources said."

I think dropping that much makes the casino scared a little. And the odds increased over a straight win.
I don't know any fighter betting on themselves by specific method or round. But last time Iv'e heard of anyone betting a substantial amount of money, was Trump. he bet a million on Douglas against Tyson.
Trump bet a million on Douglas to win? Seriously?
if i remember correctly, yes.Trump bet a million on Douglas to win? Seriously?
If you already got paid, nothing that can be done.Supposedly a bunch of fighters bet against Leben in the Risholt fight because they knew he really didn't train beforehand.
What happens if you win a bet and the result is later overturned?
Edmund has bet on Ronda several times. He bet on her winning in the third round in the Miesha rematch.
And that's relevant to teh question how?
You should be able to bet on yourself to win ITD, but it's a conflict if you bet on yourself to win by decision, or any type of "over" bet.I don't see a problem if they play money line.. No props or unders anything like that.
That’s like having too much faith on yourselfBetting against yourself sounds like it could be illegal but what about betting on yourself to win in a certain round or by submission/knockout/decision?
