Don't compare Conor Mcgregor to BJ Penn until Conor wins a Welterweight championship.

Im sick of seeing these comparisons thrown around aswell as 'who would beat who' for bj vs conor.

Until Conor wins the welterweight championship, dont even mention him in the same breath you say the name BJ Penn.

The real time Conor jumped up and faced anyone who was Matt Hughes quality, minus the defences, but skillwise to say the least, he got fucking smashed and emasculated and was tapping in seconds once that choke was sunk.

Conor vs Khabib is actually the equivalent of BJ jumping up to welterweight and facing Hughes.

And we all know who beat who and who lost to who.

BJ Penn would destroy Ferg, Khabib, and Conor.

At the same time.

McGregor-Nurmagomedov is more equivalent to when Penn fought St-Pierre. Eddie Alvarez is the Matt Hughes in the situation, and McGregor was successful there as Penn was when he fought Hughes.

BJ Penn and Matt Hughes fought in the dark ages of MMA. The level of skill from that time is 20% of what it is today. BJ Penn has lost like what 5 times in a row in the past 5 years? lol

Dark ages in MMA = everything before your join date?

Prime BJ would get mauled in the current WW division.

Conor would also tool him.

BJ was great in his era, but wouldn't fare too well against this era's elites.

BJ penn is a legend of the sport. It's an insult comparing BJ to fighters who have zero title defenses

Conor has never fought out of his general size level. He's fought smaller and similar but never bigger. The total opposite of Penn.

Looks like somebody touched your sore spot.

Except Penn has made FW since then. Please please please try and convince me that there is any way Conor can make BW.

I love arguments from morons.

Not only that he absolutely spanked a boss like Matt Hughes who was on a warpath before and after this loss to Penn.

It was basically a perfect fight for Penn that night.

when BJ faces Hughes, and when BJ faced GSP who had more defences and who was more highly touted each time?

i think Hughes takes that.
