The reducing in size is the only way to make the grappling work. If not there would be terrible clipping issues.
In an open weight matchup like this it becomes very apparent though yeah. You don't really notice it as much with fighters in the same division.

And yeah there is open weight mode but it only works on Event mode apparently.

There are many fighting games but its pretty difficult to deal with when characters are wrapping themselves all over their opponent like you see in MMA.

Anybody remember Brock’s inescapable guillotine in THQ UFC 2? People liked using Machida and Nog because of a trip TD but for some reason it would always lead them to a guillotine and Brock could sub anybody with the guillotine and you didn’t have to press anything, it was so cheap lol. Just let them try that TD, lay the controller down game will just fuck them over by itself. /OT
