- If Conor beats Khabib, Conor will be the first UFC fighter in HISTORY to win the LW belt twice

No other LW in UFC history has ever won the LW belt twice. The entire history and progression of UFC LW champions as follows

Pulver
Sherk
BJ
Edgar
Benson
Pettis
RDA
Alvarez
Conor
*stripped

- If Conor beats Khabib, that will mark the 3rd time that Conor beat a prime champion when they were still primetime champions (Aldo/Alvarez/Khabib).

That would put Conor only behind Gsp and Randy Courure in MMA history for fighters who have beaten the most champions AS they were still champions

- If Conor beats Khabib, this will be the second time that Conor has beaten a fighter who had a run of being 10 years unbeaten. This will be a remarkable first in MMA history

Aldo was undefeated from Novemeber 26 2005 to December 12 2015 until Conor beat Aldo and ended Aldo's run

From September 13 2008 until October 6 2018 Khabib has not lost.

If Conor beats Khabib it will officially mark the second time that Conor has beaten a fighter who was on a 10 year unbeaten streak

2x that Conor has beaten 10 year unbeaten fighters

Just to put things in perspective for you

Only one other fighter in history has ever beaten a 10 year undefeated fighter, and he only did it once (Werdum over Fedor)

Yet Conor will have DONE IT TWICE if Conor beats Khabib.

For Conor to have wins over a 25-1 Aldo, and a 26-0 Khabib, thats just....words can't describe...no more forum hater bullshit, that would be the best resume in MMA history. Would be simply incredible!

Conor beating Khabib is some serious once in a life time, history-making GOAT achievment that we as fans should all be cheering for to happen

Conor needs to make history for such a historic card. Perfect match.

War Conor mother fucking McGregor...AKA The Real Ali of MMA...AKA the Real Life Tony Montana...AKA the REAL once in human history *cough Rogan* ...AKA The Rick Flair of MMA on the mic...AKA THE IRISH DON !!!!! THE ONE AND ONLY, call him Conor Mac daddy !!!

Bonus HL. Enjoy: )

OMG

I hate NOTHING more than titles like that

Find out what inside

The worst thing in our culture

And When Khabib mops the floor with Conor, it will be 27-0. Yes no draw, no DQ, just pure 27 fucking zero and undefeated for 10 fucking years. Who else did it in the history of mma? Not a man alive or dead. This is what a real GOAT is. Go Khabib.

And as a Conor hater, if he does in deed beat Khabib barring any bs decision, I will give him due credit because he will deserve nothing short of extreme praise.

You sound like a man who doesn’t appreciate getting click-baited.

I concur.

Well, the first one isn't really that impressive considering he was stripped of the title for never defending it in the first place.

BJ Penn, for example, won four championship fights at Lightweight - The fight where he won the belt, and the three fights where he successfully defended it. In Conor's case, beating Khabib would simply be a case of winning his second title fight at the weight class.

Beating champions>>>>>"defending" vs contenders

Carlos Newton
Dave Menne
Evan Tanner
Matt Serra
Forrest Griffin

All 'contenders' who beat champions and never made a title defence.

Multiple title defences >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>winning the belt and never defending it.

It's one thing to win a title, it's another to defend it.

Yeeeah no.

Beating Aldo, Alvarez, and Khabib as they were still champions at the highest height of their primes >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>15 "defenses" over "contenders"

No one gives a shit about title defenses

Title defenses only became a thing recently because it was the only thing Conor haters had left on Conor.

If title defenses are the be-all-end-all, then Fedor can never ever be in any all time great talks. Why don't you go look at how many times Fedor actually ever defended his "belt" in PRIDE during his "run"

Yeeeah no.

Beating Aldo, Alvarez, and Khabib

He hasn't beat Khabib though.

Alvarez champion at the height of his prime?

Title defenses have always been a thing, it's got nothing to do with your imaginary haters.

Fedor went eight years undefeated and had three Pride title defenses.

It's in the eye of the beholder

Anytime someone does something that's a FIRST, I personally find it impressive, but hey, opinions

However, no matter how you personally feel about it or how you attempt to argue it away, the fact is that Conor with a win over Khabib would factually become the first fighter in UFC history to ever win the UFC LW belt twice....

and what makes that stat even more impressive on Conor's end, is that Conor never lost the belt in the first place. It's simply Conor correcting the lineage of the LW title and reclaiming his lineage

If others do do it in the future, because they lost the belt, it won't hold any where near as much weight as Conor winning it twice without having ever lost etc

You know, I did use to love BJ at one time, but playing devils advocate to your post, you listing what BJ did isn't that impressive at all to me. See, opinions; )

The UFC tried to set up an easy fight for BJ to win the LW belt on a silver platter, and yet BJ completely blew it, having such a shity unimpressive draw with Uno, that it caused the UFC LW division to be emtirely scrapped lol. That's bad lol

BJ beat a TUF'er to win the LW belt, and then "defended" against a bunch of more TUF'ers

Color me unimpressed. Just saying: )

Quality>>>>quantity

Conor having championship wins over 2 champions in Alvarez and Khabib who had a combined 50+ wins together, would shit all over any LW accomplishments BJ ever had IMO. That's just me being truthful and looking at it objectively, not trying to base it on any bias
