Not everyone gets to retire with a W in the UFC.

Respect.

Bjorn got rid of Lombard at exactly the right time. Genius

Good riddance.

The guy came off like a cocky bastard to me at times.

3rd or 4th most wins at MW in the UFC.

Respect.

Best retirement he could hope for. He has his own Nova União gym now, so it's good advertisement as well.

After his last performance, in which he faded and got finished in Rd 3, this was great redemption. Lombard didn't really hurt him too much, but he clearly won Rd 1. That may be a matter of mileage, but you still have to be there and fight. Leites earned that win with output; he fought for it. Nice closing chapter to his career.

Wasnt there this love triange thing between him and some well known BJJ instructor?

Or maybe someone else with similar sounding name.

I've always liked Thales Leites. I think he got shit on a bit too much for his win over Marquardt and then stinker against Anderson, but he's a really good fighter and his return to the UFC has been a good run too. He's like Jacare but not quite as good. But he had a really good top game and developed much improved striking during his 2nd run. Hespect

Good luck to the lad.. Decent keeper of gates.. <Gordonhat>
