That was a missed opportunity.
Not sure about the significance of "No. 12". Could there have been 11 other "Proper" whiskeys trademarked in Ireland?

Is that true? I’d assumed it was a cunning way to get a big number 12 on the label, without producing a 12 y.o. whiskey. You know, as a way of misleading the rubes.
