The ufc centered an entire season of tuf around him and dc, gave him the main event on one of their biggest cards of the year, perhaps his most lucrative contracted bout to date . And they came out and stated that the winner would likely be gifted a fight vs brock and all the benefits that entails. Newsflash : You lost.
This was the route the ufc were going to go with you or without you. And if you won , your ass would be laughing all the way to the bank.

He is perfectly in his rights to not accept something that doesn't benefit him.

It might not achieve anything, but you can hardly blame the guy.

No, he has a reason.

He was not put into this position fairly. He was heading down that path untill his eyes got fingered.

1. He poked Cormier too.

2. Cormier had dialed in and was starting to piece him up before the poke that stopped the action happened.

3. The only effective thing Stipe did in that fight was wall and stall.

Stupid Stipe

Try saying that really fast!

His was accidental, ineffectual and once. Cormier's were damaging, frequent and on purpose, methodical/prepared and literally lead to the KO at the end.

Cormier had already poked him up to that point. The only turning point in DC's favor happened after the eyepoke(s). Before that he was getting outwrestled and outboxed.

Yeah...DC eyepoked him frequently, as seen on all the replays. DC was definitely getting outwrestled and outboxed too. <Lmaoo><45>

He's entitled to his reasons. He set the record for the most defenses in UFC Heavyweight history and gave a spanking to the guy they were marketing as the next big star (Francis Ngannou.) It's fair for him to think he deserves a rematch.

Hahaha

If DC had lost after getting his eyeballs viciously raked by Stipe (as he did), I doubt you'd see the same salty demands for a rematch.

Stipe got KTFO. Best come to grips with that. Whining time is over.
