The full details of the deal are vague at this time, but it’s believed that some of the events that will broadcast on the network will be made available to other channels on a licensing deal e.g. via Sky Sports Box Office or BT Sport Box Office.

The deal will see an end to the UFC’s five and a half year relationship with BT Sport.

Eleven Sports currently provide TV and/or digital services in Belgium, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Taiwan, United States and starting next month, the UK and Ireland.

The company recently announced the launch of two new channels for the UK and Ireland, Eleven Sports 1 and Eleven Sports 2, which will launch in August via an online streaming platform.

Our sources have told that by the time the deal is in place, Eleven Sports expect to be available via a newly launched television channel.

As a note

+ IMG now have shares in Eleven Sports in teh UK and are financially committed to the two new channels.

+ Theyve already secured amongst other things full Serie A exclusivity in the UK from BT and stolen Spanish La Liga football from Sky

+ In other regions like Belgium they already have the UFC rights as well as Cage Warriors and other MMA and Combat organisations

+ In Singapore the monthly sub is about £15 gbp

Their head is former BT TV boss Marc Watson

But but but Dana said UFC is neck and neck with Soccer worldwide.

As long as people still post the streams they can put it on whatever channel they want.

Death warrant for the UFC in the UK

They think people are going to really pay PPV to watch some of these cards.....LOL

I get pissed even now staying up to watch cards that are complete shit, and i dont even have to pay for them

Pretty sure when Dana said it would be bigger than soccer ( football )… He meant NFL in the UK...

its not ppv.

eleven sports will be two 24/7 sports channels.. initially online only, but eventually on tv (presumably by january)

they just say that they may sell some events on to sky/bt

So basically if you pay your £15 a month sub to Eleven you can watch the events.

If you dont have a sub with Eleven you will be able to watch some events (im guessing just numbered events) on either sky box office, bt box office, or itv box office for like £20 a pop..

nobody has these shit channels, we all have BT sport

How is that not PPV? Pay Per View means you...pay...per...view.

Eleven sports?

<FookIsThatGuy>

Too many channels.. everywhere

channels/streaming-services

But then

the point being it wont be exclusively on ppv

from the sounds of it, certain events will be on BOTH eleven sports and available on other platforms to "NON SUBSCRIBERS"

Thats the way these things usually work

the bigger issue is people will have to have subscriptions to sky, bt, eleven sports, fight pass, amazon prime and god knows what else soon..

Is this channel part of the regular UK cable packages? How will this affect the glorious BT Sport streams? Asking for a friend ;)
