IT was a first round finish but he does deserve a rematch IMO. He had the longest run and I would hate to see DC retire without Stipe getting another crack..
 
He doesn't make the box office money he has no chance of getting the title shot over Brock.

Stipe definitely doesn’t deserve an immediate rematch.


Immediate rematches are for fights that are controversial or if the champ had a long streak of title defenses like 8, not 3. And Stipe got brutally KO’d, it wasn’t like he lost a close decision.

And his 2 of his title defenses were past their prime fighters Overeem and JDS.


Also, to say he didn’t know UFC was a sideshow business until now he is either lying or ignorant, how many years has Lesnar been in the UFC??!
 
I would have loved to see Stipe's reaction if he had won and they'd brought Brock to the octagon. He would not have given a rat's ass about Dana's attempts to hype the fight.
 
He should earn his rematch by beating at least 2 top guys. By that time Cormier will be retired but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

He's the best heavyweight in the history of the UFC

To say he doesn't deserve an instant rematch is already stupid, but to say that and then be okay with cormier fighting Brock instead is straight up retard level brain power
