We know it will never happen but lets just contemplate for a moment how amazing this would be. Take for example Aldo vs Mcgregor how would it be if after that 13 second knock out, they had a 2nd fight scheduled 3 weeks later. The anticipation would be crazy, how well could Aldo even recover? would he be gun shy in the cage? what kind of shit would Conor talk in between that time? Would Aldo be able to make the right adjustments etc.

Or can you imagine getting the same with Ngannou vs Stipe. A 7 fight series over 6 months. Stipe trying to survive that monster 7 times? I feel like Ngannou would knock out every fighter past or present at least once over a 7 fight span.

Paquiao vs. Marquez is like the closest thing to a series we got in modern times. 4 fights, 1 draw, 2 controversial decisions and 1 devastating knock out. Every fight was unbelievable.

I understand there are countless of things why a series would never be possible in combat sports but damn would it be interesting.

I actually think Ngannou was lucky Stipe didn’t knock him out on the feet. Especially in the first couple rounds.

Cliffs:

"UFC doesn't have enough rematches."

Great, so if I wanna see who's better....a guy like Conor vs Tony could take 4 years.

That would mean 5 more wonderboy vs Woodley fights<GOT4>

Silva-Weidman II is a perfect example.

I'd say in retrospect it looks like Ngannou was the lucky one landing early on Reem and Arlovski.

I think Arlovski/Sylvia is the closest we've had to this unless another pair of fighters has had more than 4 fights against each other.

Pretend a main event/championship fight is a best of five series.

There wouldn't necessarily be 7 fights though, could be as few as 4 depending on wether or not one guy just has the others number. JDS vs Cain is the closest thing I can think of though it was only a best of 3 instead of 7.

It is intriguing but unfortunately it would take to long to be fisable in combat sports

In a whole OP built on ridiculous ideas, this is the most ridiculous of all.

Francis is an overrated 40 year old horsemeater with no heart from Cameroon that "hits harder than a Fird Escort". Thats it.

He gets murdered every time by every champ in their prime that has ever been, and you're a shill for buying the hype.

Be worse than ever with these fools trying to get paycheck Decision.

The top guys should have best of 3 fight series.
