Why do they call womens weight divisions the same as mens? (145 men = FW, 145 women = FW)

That's ridiculous. A 145 lb woman is called a featherweight. No way. A 145 lb woman is like a 205 lb man.
 
Do people on here just make threads on any random little thought that pops into their mind?
 
Why make it complicated? The weight class name is correlated to the weight it represents. That makes it way simpler

I've thought the exact thing, I just never made a thread about it. The TS does have a good point. No way the women that fight at 155 are "lightweight."

Also, why are straw weights smaller than flyweights....when straws are bigger than flies?
