According to ‘Raging Al’, he’s entered talks with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) over a lightweight matchup with ‘The Highlight’, and he’s hoping to get the fight booked for August or September.

Iaquinta revealed the news on a recent episode of his podcast, where he told a fan that he expects a ‘tough fight’ with Gaethje, the former World Series of Fighting (WSOF) lightweight champion.

“We’re hoping for sometime in August,” Iaquinta said yesterday on Call Me Al, per BJPenn.com’s Tom Taylor. “August, September. I think they wanted it to be sooner, but like, that guy needs a rest. I was looking out for his health with that one. He needs a break for a minute.”

“If it goes down the way it’s supposed to, it’ll be a good fight, a tough fight.”

Al deserves this after stepping up and almost finishing Khabib.

Much better than the Barboza fight. I'll take Al by KO in the third. Should be a regular slobberknocker

This is a good and balanced fight, I like it. Should be a barn burner for as long as it lasts.

A step down for Gathje to recoup himself, and a top LW for Iaquinta to prove he belongs among the top tier of LW's.

Would say Justin, but he has had some tough losses and Al's stock and confidence are high.

This is the UFC gifting Al a good winnable fight, that puts him into contention for taking the Khabib fight on short notice.

Justin "The Punching Bag" Gaethje returns. Everybody wants an easy fight with a punching bag.

Hate to say it as a massive fan of JG but I think Al knocks him out
