When journeymen like Barboza and Michael Johnson are still considered elite fighters...

Michael Johnson will always be the Michael Jordan of MMA striking.

It's not overrated, I just think there is a big difference between the top of the heap and the middle of the pack. And that difference appears to be the ability to secure takedowns, and inflict fight changing damage when you secure the TD. Barbosa will never be champ because of this as long as a powerful wrestler is atop the heap. MJ was and will never be a top guy. Barbosa has/had a better shot.

I think LW is stacked full of fighters. Barboza is a dangerous guy. Say what you want, the guy can end a fight in the blink of an eye. Yea he took an ass whooping, but he never gave up

Your shit threads are underrated in their shittyness

Any top 50 LW could hold you down and fuck your wife at the same time

The fact that genuinely good fighters like that, are not even top 5 at LW, just goes to show you how deep, stacked, and ultra competitive LW is.

The Jones era of LHW is one of the most pathetic shallow over rated divisions in MMA

You had Jones consistently defending against fighters with wins streaks of no more then 2 wins lmao (some even had losing records coming into title fights against Jones)

LHW was so weak and shallow Jones defended TWICE vs MWs

Meanwhile you look at LW, and someone like Iaquinta is on a 5 fight winning streak and yet was still only ranked #11 at LW. LW is a true shark tank

Meanwhile a 5 fight winning streak at LHW makes you a LHW GOAT lmao

If Iuaquinta were a LHW he would probably be top 3....yet at LW he's no better then top 15

LW is absolutely stacked to the brim ocean deep with actual legit talents

LW truly is the best most stacked division in MMA history and Conor sits atop it (while also the FW champ - the second most stacked division in MMA) Like Sonnen said, Conor is the one and only true goat because Conor is champ of the 2 most stacked divisions in MMA

Conor McGregor. Khabib. Tony. Eddie Alverez. Dustin porier. Nate diaz. Lando. Barboza. Kevin Lee. Are you fucking stupid?

McGregor hasnt fought since 2016.

Khabib is elite.

Tony is meh.

Eddie is a journey man. I love him but he his.

Porier is a gate keeper.

Nate Diaz is lost 4 of his last 7.

Lando? Barboza?

LOL

I think these guys are exciting but theyre not elites.

LW is the fucking most stacked division in all of MMA. Bad troll job.

Who the fuck said Michael Johnson was elite? the dude's got hand speed and power but that's it. He got 30 fights, lost have of them, ain't killed a motherfucker yet.

And Barboza is solid, but he literally fought the two best grapplers in the Lightweight division back to back.

The Lightweight is properly rated, and with fighters like Poirier, Kevin Lee, Tony Ferguson, Conor McGregor, Eddie Alavrez and Khabib in the top 10, and fighters on the rise like Dan Hooker, Sage Northcutt, Gregor Gillespie, James Vick, Olivier Mercier, and David Teymur, how can you deny it's the most talent stacked division, and the most exciting.

What division is stronger?

FW. When they move up they do well, when LWs move down they do poorly. And former/current/future FW champs are 3-0 against former/current/future LW champions. It also has an overall better mix of styles and a lot more interesting prospects.

and those former lightweights were all on losing streaks at lw

HW is the weakest division because Conor beat Nate Diaz, who is tree times as big.

At least that's what the manlets on sherdog want us to believe.

You only have to look at RDAs Welterweight run to see how good the LW division is
