People who say Ben Askren would get "exposed" in the UFC, how do you explain Colby/Usman?

Both Colby and Usman are not even 1/10th of the grappler Askren is, yet they are already in the top #5. How come Askren wouldn't be able to do what they did ?
Truth is, he would run thru the division and eventually become champ

Ben Askren is great at wrestling, but Colby is also a great wrestler in his own right. Cobly would be able to hold his own in wrestling against Ben Askren. Match ups are everything. I think Colby and Ben Askren both beat Woodley. Not sure who would w in between the two.

Well for started neither of them has actually fought anyone with a name escort Maia, a win that exposed Covington more than it impressed... once they fight guys like lawler it woodley with good standup and and power and great defensive wrestling they literally have no chance

Askren is really really good but GSP was as close to a perfect fighter as you're gonna get.

They both did get title shots though. It's just the champ was GSP so it's no wonder they lost.

Funny, every one of these 170 wrestlers is a blanket. Woodley played it safe vs. Wonderboy, Usman was really disappointing in his last fight, where he basically used Woodley's blueprint, and we all know Askren. I only seen Covington against Maia, but he also played it safe vs. an old man.

Askren is a better wrestler than those 2 but this is MMA and I'm not sure he could beat Woodley. Woodley has solid stand up and good power.

Woodley would probably sit back looking to defend the takedown and counter.

Woodley would knock Askren out.

He NEVER fought another great wrestler in his career. Heiron was probably the best and look how that fight went.

Lima is a great fighter but he has wrestling deficiencies, also exploited by Rory and Koreshkov. Andrey himself was green when he fought Askren.

Without those guys who is left? Good? Okay fighter but in no way a legacy builder. An old, shot and undersized Aoki?

Usman would probably beat Ben btw.

Can't help but agree with you, they all lack proper striking.

One dimensional but yet they are grappling gods.
