Generally, shorter fighters tend to be wrestlers. How many successful striking specialist have been short or have shorter reach?
Note: I am not including fighters who use their wrestling to setup their strikes.
So the following are not applicable
- Demetrious Johnson
- Frankie Edgar
- Kelvin Gastelum
- Georges St. Pierre
1. Lineker
- Lineker is a pretty small guy even for the Bantamweight division, yet he relies a lot on closing distance and boxing with his opponents. He has found success due to his incredible chin and solid power.
2. Cody Garbrant
- Cody isn't short for his division, but his reach is 64.8, which is a pretty small reach for his division. He makes up for this by incorporating close range hooks and head movement, as well as great balance on his strikes.
