Not a lot of strong challengers for Stipe that he hasn't already beat. Honestly, who the fuck does Stipe fight? The division is pretty much dead and wiped at this point.

1 Francis Ngannou Already beaten

2 Alistair Overeem Already beaten

3 Fabricio Werdum Already beaten

4 Cain Velasquez Fights once every 2 years?

5 Mark Hunt Already beaten

6 Derrick Lewis Retired? Is he even still fighting? Coming off a loss.

7 Alexander Volkov 5 fight win streak. Would be a lousy PPV but eh?

8 Marcin Tybura Lost his last fight

9 Curtis Blaydes Not ready yet imo.

10 Stefan Struve Coming off a loss but has a win over Stipe

11 Aleksei Oleinik Coming off a loss

12 Andrei Arlovski Already beaten

13 Junior Albini Wears a diaper

14 Travis Browne Lost his last 4 fights in a row....

15 Tim Johnson Who do fook is this guy?
 
Cain is the best case scenario, otherwise Werdum ''makes sense''... grasping at straws honestly. It's a weird spot he's in.
 
Struve rematch.

HE has to exorcise that embarrassment.

Obviously Skyscraper doesn't deserve a title fight but this is UFcircus and lately we've had GSP, Hendo, Conor etc all getting title shots
 
If I'm Stipe, I want to fight the following guys.

1 - DC if DC moves up to heavyweight

2 - Struve, so that I can avenge every loss on my record

3 - Cain - Beat the only other top fighter people say is the GOAT in your division.

If you can't get those fights, then try to pound out some of the more favorable matchups to make some cash and keep busy building up your title defenses.
 
at this point stipe vs dc would make sense.
would be a superfight.
dont count dc out, that guy can grind well and has a decent chin.
both have the same situation in the division.

He waits for the winner of Werdum vs Cain.

Volkov also needs another fight or two before he steps up at the champ.

UFC should sign Minakov that's the best play for the HW rooster.

He's getting to the point in his reign where he will have to start rematching guys I guess. Werdum with a better gameplan would make for an interesting rematch. Maybe Cain vs Overeem for next contender?

Rematches are all fine and dandy but none of the guys he beat are on a good win streak either.

Werdum has won 2 fights, not sure if he has another fight lined up yet. Not exactly a very compelling storyline for a rematch though.
 
probably volkov. Blaydes down the track and despite sherdog popular opinion Francis will be back. Cain is always a looming possibility if he can ever get his injuries sorted.

I expect stipe to be a big favourite against any of the potential challengers but the title challengers will keep rolling regardless as they always do

Lol @ guys saying Struve and Kos. The guy just lost and is fighting Andrei.
Cain and Volkov are the only viable options but meh.
 
Has to be either Werdum or Volkov. No one else has a solid case IMO.
