Given how green Ngannou is, it could have been worse.
Stipe is simply a better fighter currently.
It'll be interesting to see Ngannou from here. The dude really needs to learn how to jab, he should be watching some tape from George Foreman.

Was hilarious seeing Ngannous ass fall out when he met a guy who don't curl up like a snail after a couple punches and gets it brought to him.
Even better seeing his fans and Dana White is shock at their boy getting walked over.

Besides the usual damage that comes with the territory, UFC 220 was a fun card and nothing all that bad happened.
Stipe felt disrespected, but, in reality, got the right kind of image boost & reality check he needed to advance in his career. Francis didn't live up to Dana's expectations, but, in reality, he's a dude who's only been at this game for 4 years and still went full 5 rounds with the potential HW GOAT while never giving up and never losing his fight ending ability - stayed dangerous till the very end. Not the overly dramatic superhero everyone wanted, but still quality, fresh new blood at HW with more improvements incoming.
Also, people saying Stipe gassed - he didn't, he got rocked. He was punch drunk almost the whole fight. Still won.
Either way, great fight between two great guys.

Ngannou showed some awful striking. Failing to utilize angles in any effective way, while not working behind a jab in favor of winging his hardest shots from angles Miocic could simply move to the side and out of the way of.

Definitely. Especially with Francis's fondness of the uppercut he should do a classic foreman strategy of getting his opponent to widen their guard with non committal hooks bc even non committal shots from Francis will make you cover up, then uppercut up the middle when your man opens his guard.
Plus learning some better defense would help. Foremans mummy defense worked well for both Rothwell in several fights and Rory as well.
Plus his double bicep control would be awesome for him. Takes little effort in terms of wasted strength and energy and would open up his shots a bit more as well.

...let's be real here for a second....even when the opportunity to finish Francis presented itself on multiple occasions, stipe avoided going for it out of necessity and preservation agains a question mark opponent....why risk it?
When's the last time juiced jones finished anybody outside of of dc?

Stipe just layed the blueprint on how to make Francis look completely green and one dimensional....and right on time his ship jumping nuthuggers (mostly jones fans) are on about how ngannou is a can and stipe isn't a finisher right on time as usual

That was an exhibition of what happens when you send a devestating puncher with little other skill, and a dump truck full of hype, into a fight with a skilled champion.
Ngannou's camp failed him more than anything. They didn't have a plan-b in case Ngannou didn't land early. His cardio was shit. They HAD to have known Stipe was not going to just stand there in front of him and get blown out like some donkey, but Ngannou didn't know what to do after he realized he was gassed and winging hard punches was only making it worse.

MM just finished his last fight, and like, 8 of his last 11 or some shit like that. GSP finished Bisping to win the middleweight title. Not really sure how that added to what you were trying to say.
