It makes absolutely no sense unless Khabib is permanently moving to WW. Why would RDA take such a risky fight that could push him down in the rankings and delay a title shot? And what would it prove for Khabib if he went back to LW afterwards?

Khabib would still win but with a style similar to say someone like Colby/Usman at welterweight & not the usual Khabib style. One of the set backs of Khabib's style is that it probably works best at lower weight classes. Its just that much harded to througly dominate & hold down a fighter (and do all the other stuff he does) for 3-5 rounds at the higher weight classes in such a fashion simply because of how big they are.
