When asked if the condition could put St-Pierre out of competition forever, Danaher wasn't very reassuring.
“That is a definite possibility,” he said. “I don’t want to say yes or no because it’s not my decision, really. These are deeply personal decisions that Georges has to make. More over, they have to be made not as spur of the moment decisions. These are life-changing decisions, so they will have to made on the basis of Georges’ reaction to the medications that he’s taking for ulcerative colitis."

Just when I was becoming a GSP fan.

A tragedy for sure, but the man has nothing to be ashamed of. A minimum 8 month layoff for medication and recovery would delay his return a long time, maybe even years. At that point it would make sense to not fight again as he would be approaching 40 and coming off a serious illness.

this is just a setup for gsp leaving mw without ever having to face whittaker. how convenient it all ended to be... you gottaa be naive to not see thru it,gsp conned wme and dana hard on this one. stock market boys

Yeah unless he can cherry pick another big fight

Will probably start calling out a Diaz next

Naw, you don't lie about a inflammed colon. If you want to duck a fight you say you have a sore leg or vagina. I believe GSP on this one.

Nah he comes back in 2019-2020 when UFC becomes full WWF

No, as Dimspace figured out if you retire you don't have to take USADA anymore. It's the secret sauce of the UFC top tier. Just think of a good reason, retire, come back when you want and do whatever the hell you want because USADA can't touch you until you come out of retirement.

Before GSP butternuts scream about it, their are many reasons to get out of the drug testing pool, like not having random blood tests interfere with your jet setting lifestyle.

He'll come back for

shut up idiot . what the hell is wrong with people that fucking think everything has to fucking be a lie all the time. seriously

Whats funny is they say he cherry picked an opponent tailor made for him. He gets cut up and hurt in the position he should be " safest " in. He wins the stand-up battle which many thought he would'nt even engage in. He ends up actually knocking Bisping down, and choking him unconscious. So although it may be true he took the path of least resistance towards the title (which anyone would do given the choice unless your BJ Fucking Penn), He still won the fight in what was probably the most dangerous way for him and in a way no one expected. Oh and he did all this after being away for FOUR years and after having TWO reconstructed knees and moving up a weight class. I think he deserves a tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiny bit of credit.

One more thing, no NON-FIGHTER should EVER call a professional fighter a coward. They are professional fighters. Think about it.

So GSP announces to the world he has a bleeding rectum so he can fool USADA? Really? Don't you think he could have just told people he was retiring to start a weed growing business or that he needed to go back to his home planet because his people needed him.

He'll recover miraculously when the UFC comes to the table with the right offer. He's not stupid.

WAR GSP!

You're a bit thick in the head if you think that Dana wasn't aware of this the whole time.

Nothing left to prove:

- won the title
- lost the title
- won the title back.
- defended it many times
- made good money.
- retired
- came back and won the title at a high weightclass.
- put all doubters aside when he won title during USADA era.

Who knows, maybe Batroc the Leaper will be in Avengers Infinity Wars 2.

By engaging in these sideshows, all the UFC are doing is systematically devaluing the divisions, belts therein and champions.

You've got Tony at LW who is on an insane win streak yet holds a belt with a big asterix hanging over it, a FW champ who became champ as the champ was allowed to vacate, and now Whittakers belt is devalued.

It makes no sense promotionally at all, you are making your champions harder to promote.

Lol

How about this...

He retired because the UFC didn't have good drug testing. He came back after 4 years and won the MW title. He has a serious health issue and didn't want to pull a Conor or a Bisping and hold up the MW division ala Bisping (or Conor).

Funny how the UFC uses fighters up and spits them out and people are appalled by the possibility that maybe GSP used them.. How dare he?

And then Kelvin Gastelum disposed of him in minutes without breaking a sweat.

The whole “OMG Bisping is so dangerous!” ship has sailed, son.

Don’t even bother trying to sell us that lemon anymore.

GSP had the highest penetration of all male athletes into the Canadian bleeding rectum crowd. So he is actually working his marketing pretty well.

And you said "fool USADA" you are not up to date what's been posted here. Basically this is a known agreement between USADA and UFC, it's not to fool anyone except those thinking everyone gets tested the same. They will not divulge who takes advantage of it though. But it's obvious, if you "retire" you get in.
