For better(awesome spinning kicks, footwork) or worse( poor boxing defense) I have allways seen alot of tkd or tma in Rockholds style. Anyone know if he had any formal training as a youth? I imagine it is difficult to pickup at an mma gym or as an adult. Anyone know ?

He practiced Dbag-do and Northern Douche-u. Apparently had a brief stint in pro Smug-fu.

Not to mention a bit of Cringe-chun for good measure.

So I'd say pretty extensive.

I heard the vast majority of his experience is in Smug-fu, and that's he's actually a 10th dan Smug-fu black belt.

Apparently no TKD, which i do find interesting. I think his kicking is pretty much a function of his natural talent and athleticism and his adult training.

Judo and jitz in his childhood according to wikipedia, and wrasslin at high school.

6th degree blackbelt in whining with white stripes of pure salt.

He’s clearly an Aikido specialist

Kicking technique is all Muay Thai. Has too much faith in his kicks and his boxing sucks, so his performance suffers.
If he develops dat McGregor style counter-boxing he would MURDER ppl...

He only started training in striking arts when he decided to pursue an MMA career. Before that it was just wrestling and BJJ.

He also took a few courses in Dee Nai Oh which really showed when he talked about the greatest opponent he ever faced.

I could be wrong but I wouldn't call black belt in salt mining a "traditional martial art", thoughts?

yeah they taught him that one eyebrow raise and I'll be damned if it doesn't work to increase smugness on the spot.

His male modeling background combined with amazing Rockhard good looks along with amazing top control, means opponents are in for a loooong night.
