Speeding up the process of CTE can't be worth it. He had a good career, although probably isn't a great human being.

Anyway, it seems like he can be KO'd now by a breeze. Hang up da gloves.

Probably, but He's probably paid around 200-300k per fight.

hard to pass on good money like this.

He's had like 70+ fights in his career. It's time, bro.

11 stoppage losses. We need athletic commissions that actually look out for fighter safety. Sadly, even if that happened, he'd go to Japan and get stomped by Silva again.

I agree his chin isn't rock solid but he got floored by one of the hardest punches ever thrown.

agreed, nothing left to prove and his chin is made out of weetabix.

Plus 4 in kickboxing

That’s 15 total knockout losses. If he continues to fight it’s almost a sure thing he gets knocked out another 2 times before calling it quits. I think after 17 ko losses he will end up like goodridge by the time he’s in his early 40s... it will be sad to see as Alistair is a pretty articulative person

every time he looks like he should retire after getting viciously KO'd, he ends up going on a 2-3 fight win streak against relevant HWs in the division

and he is a future hall of famer

but I do agree

So he loses to the hardest hitting Heavyweight and people think he should retire?

He won 6 of his last 7 fights going into the Ngannou fight, and all those wins were against top level competition.

The Reem still has 2 or 3 years of fight left in him.

As much as i like Over, he really shouldn't fight dangerous guys like Stipe or Ngannou anymore.
Nah, nah, take carw of your health, Over.

He just lost to No. 1 contender. So he should retire? Despite beating Werdum, Hunt, Arlovski and Dos Santos in his last 6? And losing to a great champion in Stipe Miocic?

It has less to do with his relevance in MMA, and start to assess his long term health

-He was knocked out cold in the most brutal way possible

-The last time he was knocked out within the span of a year, he suffered a clear concussion and thought he won the fight to the point where Joe Rogan refuses to interview KOd fighters anymore

-He has been been KOd brutally several other times in the last few years, and even when he isn't, he has shown he gets rocked easily

-He's been in 60 MMA fights, like 20 kickboxing fights, not to mention years of training and sparring

The guy is going to develop CTE

He's brain doesn't though bro

Nothing new here. Overeem has always been able to be KOed by a breeze. Go back and watch some of his early Pride fights.
