Masakazu Imanari will never be remembered as one of the great mma fighters of our time, but he is without a doubt one of the most entertaining grapplers i have ever seen in the sport of mma. His submission victories are absolutely legendary and awe inspiring to watch.

2017 represents the first year he has not competed in a match since 2002. He is now 41 years old and i doubt he has many fights left

Let us remember and respect how awesome his fights were

PS: Its a pretty slow news day, why not venture back to an awesome fighter's highlight reel

Japan. Is normal.

i thought it would be a thread in name of mr Paul, damn i don't have any idea who this asian is

Damn, I didn't know @Zer had those kinds of moves.

I thought this thread was going to be about Palhares.

Leaving disappointed.

Wow, his highlights are amazing. Really impressive.

Highlight has some of the coolest subs ever!

That highlight was a treat to watch

Imanari just sticks to people like glue when rolling for a leg. He is able to get submissions from almost any position and a lot of his subs seem a bit unorthodox or improvised.

Thanks for sharing, he is ridiculously single minded! The flow is so good

Always remembered his name after watching a clip of him ripping Mike Brown's leg though never saw his highlights

Was wondering if it would be Funaki or Palhares.

I remember watching Imanari fight, but never left a big impression.
Always good to watch highlights though

I remember back when Jean Silva was the poster boy champion at Cage Rage. He then fought Imanari who ripped his knee out in like a minute, and the head of Cage Rage looked super salty when he was giving the belt to Imanari, the goofy Japanese that few people in the US knew. It was beautiful.

Good thread, TS!

I support this thread.
I wish we had more leg lock specialists in the UFC. Ryan Hall is probably the best one right now, but he is nowhere near as explosive as Imanari was.
