if you count WEC as UFC, faber has about the same number of title wins as losses, he also defended the KOTC belt when there was no UFC/BW championship and there werent bigger promotions with that weight class. he has like 12-13 WEC/KOTC title wins

the UFC merged after the peak of his career but he was still good enough to beat most guys anyways

Sotiropoulos.

It happens to champions too: Bendo, Aldo, Weidman...

Karo Parisyan was scheduled to fight Matt Hughes for the WW title

he got injured and replaced by Joe Riggs

His career/life took took a nosedive due to pain killer addiction stemming from the injury

True but the thing is, when Hughes didn't pan out, he fought Nick Thompson who later went on a winning streak. Then he lost to Diego but then he had three good fights and looked great against Burkman. His loss to Alves was the one that made his career go to shit.

Thompson fight at the time was a gimme

he was a large downward spiral and surviving on sheer talent and looked like a shell of his former self and was squeezing by guys like Pickett and Burkman

your absolutely right about the Alves KO being the dagger though

Confidence is a big factor in this sport, winning and losing streaks are common.

Khabib...Although not in the sense that everyone else is probably referring to.

Please explain how Aldo following up a loss to Conor with an absolute domination of Frankie and then a competitive loss to Max can be described as a collapse. Name a FW other than Max who you would favor over Aldo right now.

Calm down. I'm an Aldo fan but the dude has lost 2 of his last 3 after not losing in like 10 years. Something's off with him. A few years ago he would not have lost to Max. Not saying Max is a slouch, but Aldo is off mentally.
