What happened to the "fan favorite?"

Awkward, countering style is more accurate.

He should've been cut after the Alves loss... hell, even after the Evans win, which was a snoozefest of epic proportions. His stupid smiling gimmick is all that he has.

Good question. His wife and his corner yell at him the whole fight to let his hands go and yet he's always content to be inactive and clinch for minutes at a time whenever possible.

Stupid. He has power and an excellent chin and not much else.

Oh well. At least he stepped in unlike most fighters are willing to do these days. He had no camp, had to cut A LOT of weight, no surprise his fight sucked tonight. He’s not the best fighter around obviously and has had a few shitty fights, but he’s had some very good ones too. Let’s see how any of you guys do under the same circumstances as he went through today. Continue shitting on him though since that’s what you all do best.

He did himself no favors taking this fight. Maybe he needed a paycheck. But if he wants to be the guy who'll show up at the drop of a hat, he better stay close to fight shape.

He didn't look any different than when he has a full camp. That's the point. Doesn't let hands go, just looks for one punch and stays inactive or in a clinch for minutes at a time.

It seems like before that Brunson fight, he use to take a few chances and throw more.

Wouldn't care if they cut him to be honest.

I doubt they will, but I can't figure out why the UFC keeps giving him so many fights when he's so awful to watch. Dana must like his gimmick.

I’ve noticed that too about his inactivity since that fight (against Brunson). He used to come forward and force his opponents to engage so he could counter, but now he just slowly stalks them and seems hesitant to throw. A loss like that (again, to Brunson) can sometimes really mess a fighter up. Makes them gun shy ‘cause they’re worried about getting tagged and finished again or just beat up badly. He was smashing people before Brunson took him out. So yeah, hasn’t been the same since, since he doesn’t attack nearly as much or fight with as much confidence anymore. Maybe his wife should get in there and show him how it’s done.

He should listen to her. Every fight she and his corner shout at him to pick up the pace and let his hands go and tell him in the corner after every round, yet he doesn't do it. It's bizarre.

Then he apologizes on social media after the fight for it being boring and him being inactive and says next time he's going to go all out, He's done that since that horrid Elias fight.

She actually gives him good advice, too. I guess he’s just worried about getting hurt and finished again. That has to be the reason. He used to be pretty aggressive and always forcing the action so he can counter, but now he literally lets his opponents off the hook when he has a clear opportunity to counter or attack in general. It could be a confidence thing or maybe he feels he just isn’t finding the openings he needs, but I’m going with the first part (confidence isn’t too high). It definitely doesn’t help that he’s losing more because of it ‘cause that’ll likely just make it worse. He’s definitely going to need to do something about it ‘cause he won’t be around much longer if he keeps this up. For all we know this was his last fight in the UFC anyway. Other than that, what’s funny is that his wife gives much better advice than JDS’ corner in the 2nd and 3rd Cain fights lol.

It's fun when he KOs guys more athletic than he is who should beat his azz.. doesn't happen all that often, but is cool when it does. He probably reached his ceiling. He can hit hard.

He has a smile, a model wife (who's personally is meh to me), a powerful left hand, and a good chin.

He belongs in the UFC as a stepping stone.

He is slow as fck these days
IIRC he used to have better movement some time ago

Alvey all like
