UFC FN OSP vs Okami draws reported 8,571 attendance in Japan(lowest attendance ever at the SS Arena)

The UFC always give international audiences shit tier cards. (except Brazil, they get some Brazilian superstars competing, occasionally).

When you're lacking in stars and have two bald guys who don't fight competing to be the face of the company, what can you expect?

Wasn't there a smaller venue they could have Used? Dana probably thinking he would sell out the fucking Saitama super arena as if this was fucking pride....lmao

It's a good card on paper. Brazilians always show up. The problem is Japan. They've never shown up. UFC has got to stop doing shows there. It's a waste of time.

UFC doesn't know how to do a hometown card. Japan doesn't want to see their fighters lose. The reason why Rizin is popular is because they do squash matches. Yeah its a circus but that is how you build a fanbase in a different country. You want the native fighter to win.

UFC is dying

But seriously, what do they expect...
Reason why Dana wants out too
And so does everyone else
The ufc is sinking
And WME have no idea WTF to do
I'm just waiting for them to fuck it up even more by introducing new divisions.

Cards in Brazil have been poor, that's why they only send fight night cards there.
The novelty has warn off

The UFC expect the 'UFC brand' to sell the cards outside of the USA.

Give the Japanese fans a great card and they'll show up.

Fact is that wme doesn't care about the UFC or mma. They bought the UFC to renew tv deals, flip and sell for a profit. They are in it for the financial prizes they get for meeting their financial objectives. Why do you think they are skimping on everything from A toZ? Cutt My costs for short term gain.

Honestly if you have been before to a ufc event, you won't go to another one if osp is your main headline

Get rid of Reebok.
Stop pushing lies and bullshit (womens MMA)
Profit!

No Show Shogun;)

It was a nice Saturday morning and Autumn Equinox national holiday so other festivals. I went to the beach.

The boxing event for champion belts a week ago in Osaka also had low attendance even though on Fuji TV prime time.

Rizen appears to fill up better but not like the good old Pride, Dream days.

Gokhan Saki was the only guy who got a pop at the presser. The Japanese fans don't give af about the other guys on the card. And they're not dumb, they knew Gomi was off his prime and on a losing streak. You can't just sucker them into attending just to see their former idols knocked out, and a bunch of no-names who they don't give a shit about.

Absolute fractions of what PRIDE used to accomplish.

Either MMA is dead in Japan or the UFC did a shit job of advertising this event.

True, they made their money with WMMA, milked the last out of Rousey, now time to slowly phase it out.
Even if you're a fan of WMMA i can't imagine how you justify putting those snoozers on the main card, and tons of deserving and entertaining fights on the prelims. They should just phase it out to INVICTA, and if anyone asks just say "we gave them their own league" and end it at that, no controversy.

UFC is fucking terrible at making cards outside of the USA.

Did they really think tons of japanese would want to watch an out of prime gomi get KO'd again?

There is something wrong with UFC, its not to do with the depth of the cards, sorry but thats the way it is. Ok guys here is some examples. UFC 122 for example was a awful card, very poor card for a PPV event.. that was in Germany but it sold out in 6 hours. UFC 72 which was a awful card for PPV sold out in under 1 hour in Ireland.

But these days shitty cards won't sell, but they used too back 6 or 7 years ago. UFC is just not as popular as it once was, there is no doubt about it. the bars and restaurants don't even screen UFC PPV's anymore here, there used to be lots of places here that showed UFC PPV's but now there is none, or there is 1 bar that does but only for certain UFC events.

I chatted too one of the guys before who used to screen UFC PPV's in his bar here and he told me he stopped doing it at UFC 132 because its too expensive to screen them and not enough people are interested or demanding it.

So, UFC is supposed to set up uneven matches in order to favor a certain fighter just to please the Japanese public?
