Is McGregor The Greatest "Jack Of All Trader" Or American Kickboxer Of All Time?

Conor's boxing has helped him knocks out dudes who are not primary boxers. But he is going to get humiliated by Mayweather. That means McGregor has not mastered Boxing. McGregor was also humiliated by Nate Diaz on the ground after being choked out. That means that McGregor has not mastered Jujitsu and cannot hang with top BJJ players on the ground. His wrestling still needs work as he was being steamroll by Mendes before Mendes gassed out. Obviously Conor has not mastered wrestling.

McGregor is however a solid Karate stylist who has adopted well ibto becoming a solid American kickboxer. He would had been a really good American Kickboxer the likes of Bill Wallace and Dennis Alexio . American Kickboxer specializes in Karate style kicks while having basic boxing. Their boxing offense may be strong and fast but they lack the defense and tricks of actual pro boxers.

Would you consider McGregor to be the greatest "Jack of All Traders and Master of Nada" or the greatest American Kickboxer to ever fight in MMA?

Conor has good boxing for MMA, hes always fighting smaller guys though. Nate Diaz has the size advantage but he is slow and not really an athletically gifted athlete. Lets be real though, Conor would get his a$$ handed to him by any top amateur in Boxing never mind a pro. Conor will be Floyd's greatest cherry

I would say more Jon Bones jones and GSP are jacks of all trades. Connor is more of a one punch wonder. He has a fierce left that he managers to lure people into with good distance control. A alright take down defence and semi descent kicks to keep people at reach. GSP and Jones though are on a completely different level. They will use anything and everything they can to get the win. They will out grapple world class Olympians, Yet they are not pedigree groomed wrestlers like their competition. They will outstrike the elite strikers , Yet they are not Boxers. They are both comfortable in any position. On the ground or on the feet. They train in every aspect of mma. Various different sports all combined into one. GSP actually is known for going from gym to gym around the world and training with different elite specialists. That type of skill level and elite fight iq does not happen over night.

Conor is a beast but his all around game is not half as advanced as those two yet. Maybe as time passes and his training progresses. He is working one of the best young grapplers in the game right now in Dillon Danis so thats gotta wear off on him. It has to. I imagine that first Diaz loss was a eye opener for him and his team. You can't just give up your neck like that to a Gracie fighter or your dead!

Only time will tell. We still need to actually see him fight more in the upper echelons of the UFC. No one knows yet if he will bother coming back for chump change MMA fights after this huge payday. He claims he will but that may be just hype to keep his fan base intact for this upcoming scrap. After he gets that check and is set for life his attitude may change a bit. I don't blame him.

So as it stands, Nope. He is not the Jack of all trades yet. As far as kickboxing , well he has to get a few finishes with his feet to be able to hold that title. He did a few fun spinning moves earlier in his career but they didnt exactly do much but make the crowd cheer. He chopped Diaz in the leg a bit in the second fight but that is nothing new in mma. Kick someone's head off cro cop style or like how JBJ kicked DC. Or how GSP kicked Hughes.. Until then he does not qualify.
