The bookies are ALWAYS one step ahead. What do they know that we dont?

Marcos Maidana was a legit champion boxer at the time of their fight, has Conor surpassed this level already?

Dana has been betting big on McGregor to bring the line down, helps him promote the fight.

they know that they have to change the odds based on money being wagered on one particular side more heavily than the other. nothing more than that.

Just Irish fans betting on their boy.

Conor is a once in human history athlete.

Just dumbass fanboys. No offense but it's true.

it has nothing to do with the bookies knowing more

its a case of the general public not betting on Maidana when he fought Mayweather

whereas in this case all of Ireland and Sherdog is betting on McGregor. the lines move based on the action. Every average Joe has at least 10 dollars on McGregor. McGregor is a bigger household name than Maidana.

Mayweather was like a -1000 favorite when the line was first released.

Vegas needs/wants Mayweather to win - FACT. If anything, that is an indication of who is going to win

and I am a McGregor guy

Rumor has it that Mayweather through various runners is going to bet an enormous amount on himself, causing the odds to change right before the fight. Mayweather wants people to keep betting McGregor so he gets the best odds on himself. Mayweather is a notorious sports gambler.

No they aren't.

Vegas is betting on Mayweather. If Conor wins Vegas loses.

They know more money is coming in on conor than on Floyd. Its simple math

This is not true.

Most of the money on this fight is on Conor.

If Vegas kept everything 50/50 and just made the juice, Conor would have been the favorite long ago.

The odds change based on money coming in. Whatever it opened at is what the bookies felt was good enough odds to get the money pouring in.

The betting line moves according to the amount of money on each side of the line... Conor vs Floyd is going to have a large percentage of casuals betting on this fight, not just pro's or sharps. That sort of action forces the books to move the line to mitigate the risk. Remember, the book makes money on the juice, in a perfect world, the book is not gambling they simply facilitate. Bottom line, Conor is going to attract a lot more casual interest (betting with their hearts) than Maidana.

If the line was even, most money would not be on Conor.

If most of the money is on Conor then why is he the underdog?
Simple math kinda tells you who most of the money is being bet on

Its not just hearts. When conor was a +1000 it made sense to drop $100 lol

I didn't mean the line being even, by 50/50 I meant the money being even on both sides.

Pretty sure I read that 75-80% of the money was on Conor and that Vegas/bookies were basically betting on Floyd. If Conor wins, Vegas loses its ass.

I can't really search for the article right now

8 oz gloves confirmed, imo.

Just wait for the announcement later tonight.

Just Irish fans betting on their boy.

Are there that many irish fans actively betting?

In all seriousness: all those Brazilian fighters barely have a market of people who watch their fights in comparison to the US market. Are the irish that tuned in?
