Not asking for the 5 best, but most people will probably draw from among the best for their picks. If you were to choose 5 fighters (past or present) from each division to showcase the diversity of high level fighting styles in MMA, who would you pick?

HW -

Fedor - sambo and all around well-roundedness
Werdum - BJJ and Muay Thai
Crocop - kickboxing
(Eco)reem - cautious kickboxing with good grappling
Cain - wrestling and relentless pressure

LHW -

Jones - unique striking, MMA wrestling and all around godliness
Shogun - aggressive Muay Thai based striking and beauty
Machida - karate
Couture - wrestling and dirty boxing
Volkan - magic. (or Rumble - black magic)

MW -

Anderson - next level flashy striking
Hendo - wrestling and basic looking but effective striking
Rockhold - kickboxing and ground game
Bisping - volume striking
Romero - bouncing around inactively and then exploding, and Olympic wrestling lol

WW -

GSP - very well-rounded safe fighting
Maia - BJJ
Lawler - Just Bleed striking
Palhares - very aggressive BJJ/submissions
Woodley - chess (or Nick Diaz, seems like a sin not to have a Diaz brother)

LW -

BJ - the complete package
Khabib - wrestling/grappling
Conor - unique striking
Pettis - flashy striking and submissions
Bendo - master of split decisions (or Nate Diaz if we keep Woodley for WW, gotta have a Diaz somewhere)

FW -

Aldo - Muay Thai and TDD
Edgar - wrestling and boxing
Holloway - high output striker
Mendes - wrestler with hands of stone
Oliveira - highly aggressive BJJ

BW -

Cruz - god of point fighting
Barao - power striker with a ground game
Faber - master of chokes
Lineker - 5'2 KO artist
Cody - boxing

FLW (getting hard) -

Mighty Mouse - super complete fighter
Dodson - low output but dangerous striker
Cejudo - Olympic wrestling
McCall - grappling and the art of not ever making it to a fight
Horiguchi - striking and demonstrating the UFC's No Love of Asians

WFW -

Cyborg - vicious power striker
Coenen - BJJ
Carano - kickboxing
Budd - kickboxer turned lay and pray wrestler
...um, nope. (or Gabanator Holloway - standing short and proud)

WBW -

Ronda - judo and submission goddess
Tate - wrestling and BJJ
Nunes - nasty power striker with good grappling
Holm - ish ish ish ish ish
Bethe - sheer athleticism

WSW -

Joanna - high volume striking
Gadelha - BJJ
Esparza - wrestling
Rose - dynamic striking and subs
Calderwood - submission defense and ability to rise to the occasion

...that took a lot of work, which fighters would you take out or sub in (and yes, some of those #5 picks were tongue in cheek).

I think at LW I'd have Ferguson and Barboza instead of Bendo and Pettis. Ferguson due to his slick BJJ and unorthodox striking, and Barboza for his crisp strikes and flashy KO's.
