A while ago, I was thinking of a Light-Heavyweight fighter in the UFC and which a vlog of him talking about how easy his weight cut was and it made me wonder... does steroid-use make weightcutting easier?

Yes. There are a number of drugs that help shed fat and retain muscle. As far as cutting water weight goes id imagine there may be some drugs which help.

Some will help maintain more muscle, while losing weights. This will indirectly help with weightloss, but not all that much. Androgens can almost make it impossible (depending on dosage) to lose weight due to aromatization (converting to estrogen) and water-weight gain. Some even increase your appetite greatly.

It makes it a lot easier. There's bodybuilding contest prep drugs that make it much easier to dehydrate and lean out. Also just being on testosterone helps, muscle retains water better than fat, so the leaner & more muscular you are, the easier time you'll have with a dehydration cut.

No. Not at all. Rather the complete oposite. But there Are peds that can help a lot with it. Not steroids.

Steroids will not help the actual weight(water cut) at all. Some esters of testosterone and other steroids may even make the weight cut harder bc you hold much more water. However, steroids will allow you to really improve your body composition (less fat, more muscle) and allow you to weigh a bit less between fights (depending on your pre-steroids body composition).

TS is trolling guys. It's all bait.

Steroids make you retain water, some more than others. They can help you LOSE weight indirectly because increased muscle mass increases the metabolism.

Espironolactone is a diuretic with steroid efects like Gyno and testicle atrofia

Do more research idiot.......From the web "Espironolactone is a steroid that blocks the effects of the hormones aldosterone and testosterone and has some estrogen and progesterone-like effects. Espironolactone belongs to a class of medications known as potassium-sparing diuretics."

Idiot couch pharmacists, You are all wrong and dumb as a box of bricks. The steroids you would use during a weight cut (just like in Body Building) ARE NOT Test based or even oil based for that matter. Most cutting steroids are actually veterinary drugs designed for horses like Winstrol V and Boldenone. They DO NOT cause any water retention at all. Coupled with an oral steroid like Anavar, and you can easily lose weight and still retain muscle.

Hey moron, the drugs you mentioned are not used FOR weight cuts. They are just better options to be used leading up to a show for bodybuilders. That's not what the TS was asking. And bodybuilding aint MMA, these guys aren't stacking shit like they do in bodybuilding where the goal is to increase muscle as much as possible and decrease fat and water as much as possible. And even in bodybuilding, you would stop using test and introduce those other drugs you mentioned until maybe the last few days before the show, if at all. For MMA fighters winstrol, anavar, etc would be fine to cycle on and off because they don't cause a lot of overall weight gain, but nobody in MMA is going to be using them for a weight cut. Im sure you know they use diuretics and some AI's for that.
