It seems the UFC has bet on certain fighters and in return have been burned. The only consistent champions right now are Stipe, Tyron and MM and the UFC treats all three like shit. They probably put more money in hyping sage northcutt paige vanzant and mickey gall.

Tyron gets hookups, can't escape him in the analyst box.

How is he mistreated?

It's depressing to ask but who has the UFC built up in 2017? Ngannou and Lewis? Calvillo?

If you're going to invest that much in Sage why not promote a guy like Jimmie Rivera, Whittaker, etc? The latter are actually good fighters FFS.

Why do Sherbro's have such difficulty understanding basic business concepts? Gall, Northcutt and Vanzant are bigger draws than Stipe, Tyron and MM because people are more interested in seeing them fight over the others, so they generate more money for the UFC and are therefore paid and promoted more.

Has nothing to do with UFC picking and chosing who to turn into a star. Some people have star power and/or have come up under interesting circumstances so that people are interested in them. The UFC doesn't decide who's popular and who's not. That's on the fighters themselves and how they conduct themselves. They try to promote MM for example by building TUF seasons around him but people just don't give a shit. Pouring money into promoting MM is pouring money into the toilet. Some people just have "it" and some don't.

Northcutt and VanZant would be huge draws IF they became champion. When they go on a 4 fight losing streak there is only so much you can do for them before they need to be released from the roster. Also, pouring money into a fighter that's going to retire in a few fights seems pretty short sighted.

Do you still think hyping Rousey that much was worth it for them in the long run? They will probably never make a dollar from her again meanwhile what's left of the female bw's is dogshit.

Tyron and Stipe both have the potential to become stars. They just need to get a few highlight reel finishes and a bit of a push from the UFC

I agree with you about mighty mouse though. If anything he's overpaid for the amount he draws.

Does Mickey Gall even have a fight scheduled? How much money has been put into promoting Gall? He basically came into the UFC and started heavily promoting himself.

you leave paige out of this!!

Has Sage Northcutt even been on a PPV main card? He got some Sherdog hype because he's hot but I don't think the UFC has put an extreme amount of promotional effort into him.

UFC has shown that they will only put money into promoting fighters that will also put in the effort to promote themselves.

Before McGregor came along, Rousey single handedly carried the UFC into the mainstream on her own shoulders. Whatever they spent on her was a bargain for them.

And I'm wondering what you think the UFC does to "promote" fighters anyway? Commercial campaigns? Hand out flyers in the streets? For the most part fighters promote themselves and the UFC just puts a spotlight on the people that do it well and who the people care about. They don't really need to "pour money" into anyone. Reebok might give more love to the stars, but they've got nothing to do with who is a star and who's not.

you gotta promote yourself

the baldfather helps those who help themselves

If the UFC isn't going to promote a fighter then fighters may have to do it themselves via twitter/instagram. Ugh
