Now that we know about the main card for UFC 215, I am guessing Dana White and the UFC placed "insurance" on the card in case Amanda Nunes pulls out again in her fight against Valentina Shevchenko for the 135-pound title. The UFC scheduled another women's bantamweight fight between Sara McMann and Ketlen Vieira. McMann is in the hunt for a title shot soon. I can see Dana placing McMann against Valentina for the interim 135-pount title if Nunes pulls out again. I could be wrong, of course. Thoughts?

Not a bad move. They should do the same for the DC/Jones card.

At this point if Sara is the insurance policy good
on the part of UFC knowing Valentina will have
a fight and she'll get paid.

Jones gets popped for blow, DC vs McMann...

It's a wise strategy that they've used in the past.

Bringing in Anderson to fight DC last year cost $3m, Manuwa and McMann will be a lot cheaper.

I don't know why they don't do this for every title fight. Have a top 7 fighter on the card in the same weight class as the title fight. Pull as needed. Makes sense to me.

If Nunes pulls out again right before that fight with another bullshit excuse believe you me buddeh, their won't be no "interim" belt.
