Yes. They technically should know more than Joe but they may not be able to explain and articulate in the manner that Joe can.

Joe has a good strong voice, is a good confident speaker and rarely stumbles or stutters over his words. And of course Joe's number one attribute is his passion and excitement.

So while they may know more than Joe it might not make for better TV.

With all that said, I feel like Rogan is slightly past his prime. With the three man commentary team Rogan doesn't have the same control of the booth anymore. It is hard for all three men to get their word in and when he finally does it sounds like he is speaking on a relaxed Podcast.

It is possible the Podcast also ruined Joe. (Along with 3 man teams) He doesn't call fights the same anymore. Seriously sounds like he is stoned on a radio show now when he is supposed to be calling fights!

A good deal of champs / fighters sound like they are speaking with marbles in their mouths, or have a hard time just putting a coherent sentence together.

Cruz is in a different class in terms of the way he speaks.

Rogan's understanding of JJ is good, but the rest is very basic. His knowledge on kickboxing pretty much consists of "keep your hands up, move your feet".

no. dominick is great because he's got a good command of the English language, and he would also be an amazing coach. just because you're an amazing fighter doesn't mean you are a good commentator. just like any other sport. some of the best coaches and best commentators weren't a super amazing talent in their sport.
