Penn, no doubt a HOFer, has taken a scary amount of abuse in his last 5 fights. Not only has he lost these fights, his legendary chin keeps him standing while eating a ton of big shots. The accumulative effect of the shots taken in these 5 loses cannot be good for long term cognitive stability. He can no longer compete at the UFC level, the UFC should recognize this and protect this guy from further damage.

The rory and Nick fights were really brutal. I think those really fucked him up.

But lets be honest the guy is completely inconsistent and really never did what he had to do to be great - well we saw it for 2 camps but then he though he knew better and that ended, frankie beat him and it's been downhill since then.

Dominated Matt Hughes 2X. Lost a split decision over GSP. Finished Stevenson, Sherk, Florian and Sanchez when these guys were good. Finished Gomi when Gomi was considered the best.

Problem was he never evolved.
