We had grandpa dan Henderson still doing well on his way out. We had randy coutour who started in his 30s. #1 contendor yoel romero. I guess it's different for everyone?

Party mileage, partly styles, partly genetics. Mark Hunt has aged quite a bit better than Fedor cause he's a Samoan tank who was always just a heavy-handed striker while Fedor was a super well rounded guy who benefited from a speed advantage... who lost his speed and forgot how to grapple.

If your Strength are speed and reflex , you are going down earlier .

The heavier the fighter. The more likely they can still do well at later ages.

Like they say...Power is the last thing to go. If all you need to do is land one big punch. You have a puncher's chance.

But, in the lower weight divisions. Speed kills.

It's different for every fighter. Anyone who looks at age as if it's some comparable timeline is an idiot.

People age differently. Some people cant perform into their late 30s, 40s, other's can't.

Fighters who rely on their speed and reflex usually age worse.

Randy and Hendo don't rely on that. They use their wrestling to grind and with Hendo, he also has that overhand to rely on.

Wear and tear play a role too.

Father Time eventually gets everyone

smaller fighters tend to age faster and it is more obvious as the speed at the lower weights is a big factor - foot, hand speed, reaction times etc.

Everyone is a little different, but guys like Hendo and Romero have had some special help along the way.
