Put yourself in Daniel's shoes. You have done everything you need to accomplish in MMA. You have become the champion because Jon Jones was gone.

You finally get to fight Jon Jones again but you lose. There is nothing else to do. You are simply 2nd place. You are older, and can only get worst. The next logical step is to accept that you lost to the GOAT and that's all there is to it.

What's the point of fighting a couple more years to get another title shot when you are even older and get beat up worst.

You can't go down to middleweight because you don't have the discipline to lose that belly. You can't go to heavyweight because you are either fighting Cain, who is the gym alpha, or you will be fighting the guy who KOed the gym alpha. There is nothing you can do at this point.

Post USADA and sober Jones isn't the same as blonde girl bangin', coke snortin', swagger for days Bones. If he's tentative as fuck like he was against OSP (who had a broken arm lol), DC's gonna bully him all night long. Then DC tells Cain to (carefully) take a knee, moves up to HW to body slam Stipe, snatch that HW title and ride off into the sunset so he can get his tooth fixed once and for all.

Jon Jones has mind fucked him so badly that Cormier's brain is permanently huddled on a shower floor crying out "I cant get clean" while a stream of bloody water from it's brain-anus slowly swirls down the drain.

Probably so. He's been looking like he's ready for retirement more and more with every passing fight.

2 years off and no special vitamins.

Doubtful.

For the record, Jones is not the GOAT...

He uses PED's and his boxing is shit (see his fight with Gus).

Furthermore, he can't fight regularly because he is too much of a fuck up to not do something to temporarily derail his career.

he would smoke cain

We have never seen post USADA Jones fight Cormier. Jones was juiced to the gills when he fought Cormier the first time.

Fighting makes Cormier more money than anything else he does in his life hence why he is doing it. Even if he loses to Jones he will probably want to continue collecting those checks.

Probably but depending on what's going on with Cain I think he'd consider going back up to HW again. That's a nasty cut to 205 for him and he's had kidney failure in the past.

I agree. However, DC can still make a run at the HW division. Most fighters there are battle worn and nobody would challenge him on the ground (he would not fight Cain).

If Cain gets injured again, loses to Stipe or retires, he really should let DC make a run for the belt.

DC's gonna put such a beating on drug free Bones that Jon might be the one retiring

Sober Jones has gotten soft. The guy looks at rainbows and and shit.

I hope DC beats Jones back into rehab.

Bones don't want nothing to do even with Gus while he'z coke free... much less DC schooling his timid ass.

In the likely even Jones beats DC again

DC should return to HW and just get the fucking belt already.
Aint no one there to stop him from taking the belt

If he loses, I wouldn't be surprised if he retires

DC gonna take a permanent seat in commentary booth after Da GOAT hands him another L

Will that be the version of Jones that beat OSP so soundly? You can never count out Jones but lately he wasn't as dominant. The biggest factor in this fight is Jones' state of mind, which I wouldn't be putting money on in 2017.
