He only looks boring when guys can defend his attacks but he is always looking for the submission. Even when he can't get the submission he is always in the most dangerous position available and his opponents can't even get out of it. All they can do is defend defend defend.
If fighters can't avoid Maia's game that means they aren't complete and have to fix their game. People shouldn't be mad at Maia. This is MMA. A guys like Maia should be praised by everybody imo because he uses the tool he has at his disposal and always tries to finish.

In a real fight if a guy is grapple fucking you, what can you do? Hell, in no time limit fights Damien would be a top P4P candidate

Not everyone has a knife or a gun in real fights :p Come on what he mean was more abstract. He didn't mean Maia going around facing people on the street he meant more like if things were more like a street fight Maia would have the advantage.

L&P? Nah..

U can only accuse him of being quite "one-dimensional in his one-dimension": his submission game is mainly about RNC.

I would like to see a more diverse submission game.

Casuals are not into subz, RNCs are not really flashy, so better be creative and slick on the ground.

I love Maia, and he deserves a title shot, but let's not pretend he's an exciting fighter. The only time he's exciting is when he's fully wrapped around his prey, like an anaconda around a pig. Unfortunately he sometimes goes entire fights without that happening.

Maia tries to submit his opponents at all times. Period. That's no ----->LAY<-----n-pray by definition.
 
Because Maia doesn't Lay'n Pray... he is an artist...

Sure, there are people who just don't appreciate technical grappling and will bitch, but Maia is a master on the ground. He is often accused of not being exciting, but that is totally subjective. Personally, I love watching him work for position on the ground, he is really crafty. I would love to see him do more damage when he gains a dominant position, instead of always looking for the submission, but it just isn't his wheelhouse.

The problem that Demian does face, is that his striking is so lacking, that the only way he is going to beat elite talent is on the ground, and that is a valid criticism.

people don't really call him LnP.
The people he wasn't able to finish in his winstreak: Laflare, Gunnar, Masvidal have never been finished in the UFC.
