Prime machida beats chuck 9/10 times.he was so elusive in his prime

Same reason why Lidell and Hendo didnt happen

Liddell is a great fighter but he was never the best LHW in the world.

PRIDE fighters would have eaten him alive.

Chuck was a little busy getting KO'd by everyone else in the division.

You mean the Chuck Liddell that got ktfo by rashad, who himself got ktfo by Machida ?

It would have been a mean KO from the Dragon

Liddell would have gotten that matchup had he beaten Shogun. As weird as it was, the UFC was constantly setting Liddell up to get a title shot, even after his losses to Jardine and Rashad.

Machida probably wins 8/10 times but I will give Chuck a small chance because he sure had great timing, anticipation, accuracy and power.

Chuck would have never had the mobility to deal with Machida

Chuck would've gotten frustrated and over committed and gotten caught against Machida.

Hard match up for Chuck imo. Lyoto moves too well and is too patient to fall for any of Chuck's traps.

Yep. After Shoguns weak showing against Coleman Dana wanted Shogun to lose and set up a shitle tot for Chuck.

Chuck had gone to shit and a Machida jab would have added to his highlight reel.

Kinda lame he fought guys like jardine, and franklin while hendo and machida were around.

Machida would have beat punch drunk Chuck, but prime Chuck knocks him stiff like Shogun did.

Hackleman admitted they ducked that fight.
Not sure if it was on Rogan's podcast or not but they def avoided fighting machida, one of chuck's worst stylistic matchups.

I dont hold it against him. He was really winding down when he fought Jardine, and obviously Franklin. If all the Pride guys had come over just a few years earlier we would have seen alot of dream matchups, but by 2006 Chuck was declining.
