Do you guys think Jones will comeback and dominate or things will be different at LHW?

Dont know why, but i think things will be different when he comes back... guys know his game by now.
But you can say Jon is aproaching 30 years old, his prime is looming, maybe he will be even more beastly, who knows...

his prime is looming? The guy has been fighting for 10 years, he's gotten injured, he's gotten beat up. Where is this idea that you can fight for 10 years and you still hit your peak when you're 29/30?

It ain't happening. If he came back and beat DC, he would be the GOAT. I already felt he was verging on goat status after he beat DC the first time round, but we all know that victory has an asterix next to it. Maybe it's too good to be true for a young guy to come on the scene and demolish a legend like Shogun. We will see how he fights with Usada in play.

I think people are underestimating ring rust, and how quickly the mental part of the game shifts with layoffs like this.

The reality is, no one knows, but to automatically expect Jones to comeback and dominate is a bit naive.

Then again, the division is weak right now. This layoff may have cost him a lot of money (a ridiculous amount, actually), but it's also allowed him to heal, train, and increase his mileage.

He hasn't taken damage, so he still has several years in his prime.

He's coming back a destroyer. Jones won't lose for the rest of his career. He will have a gawdy championship boxer-esque record when he retires. 35-1* or something.

If he wants to come back to that ring, he'll need a professional driver to take him there!

Who would beat him? There's really not much competition at LHW. The one top guy he hasn't beat just lost a 2nd time to one he did beat and retired. I thought Rumble had the best chance at beating Jones but after seeing him get outwrestled again by DC and to see him retire you have to imagine he doesn't have the skill or mind set to take on Jones now.

The rest of em he's already beat though of course the Gus fight was close and DC was competitive against him so I guess they could win in a rematch but even against them I'd have Jones as the favorite despite the ring rust.

Things will be different... he can't eyepoke, he can't keep his testosterone up with Dick pills and he hasn't finished a LHW in 5 years

he is nothing without dick pills. the new rules making outstretched finger a foul dont help either.

As long as...
1.Jones stays away from banned substances
2.DC makes weight
3.Matt Hamill is not signed with the UFC
...I see no reason why he wouldn't get the belt again

My guess is he loses a step without the Viagra and eyepokes, loses to Cormier, who then retires, and the championship is up for grabs again.

Robbie Lawler improved technically, he didn't hit his prime. Physically, he had slowed down, but he also improved his ability. Jones hasn't changed since he won the championship, he's gotten down into being a grinding ugly fighter, which is more sustainable than most styles, but people acting like he's going to hit an athletic peak and become even better is absurd.

he will assuredly dominate all but 2 people.

he probably beats one of those 2 people.

the other will be a very good chess match of a fight, Jones will be the slight favorite (Vegas)....and i'm just not sure.

different. new eye poke rule and usada alot of fighters havent been the same this last yr or 2 the only one that wont be is conor and thats simply b/c he gets hand pick manlets opponents to dominate

this. Even with as little damage as he took compared to others, 30 cant be your physical prime in this grueling sport.....and in many others for the most part. Imo he wont be the same Bones who dominated lhw years ago, but it will be mostly due to his mental state.

more like fighting in his proper weighclass helped him a lot. Also he did better in the ufc but that doesnt mean that he reached his physical prime in his 30's. (got faster, stronger, etc)Imo he matured and got more experienced .

A few guys out there are late bloomers but that is not Jones case, i can guarantee you that.
