Does anybody think Weidman has good enough stand up to hang in there with Mouse and get a win?

IMO Weidman´s got good elbows in the close range

Powerful kicks (when he throws them right)

Is that enough to get a win against Mouse?

Thoughts?

Moose will get emasculated

Yes he does. He handled Machida in the striking so no reason he cant handle Mousasi.

Don't recommend it.

Better off using his wrestling to win this one.

Why would he risk it? Moose will be on his back faster than you can say 'reality check'.

Pre USADA Weidman out muscles Moose, wears him down and finishes an exhausted Moose in the 5th. Today, Moose beats Weidman standing and finishes via TKO in the 4th.

If he can't take him down he can still submit him with fluffy fingers.

Fight is 3 rounds.

Chris will implement a heavy grappling gameplan and he will be able to take him down and keep him there is my best bet.

But yea he can be competitive standing if that's was your concern.

He beat Machida and Silva standing, and he looked good striking against Rockhold and Romero (before the monster knee). He should be better everywhere.

Then Mousasi will get exposed once again. Sherdog thinks he's a striking god even though it's been disproven multiple times:

He'll be eating jabs all night. He's never fought someone with a competent jab like Mousasi. He'll be grapple fucking early.

His jab is garbage, he only hit machida 2 times the whole fight with the jab.

He shouldn't have a problem getting him down(he did take Yoel down), what he does when he gets him there is the real story, Moose is pretty active off his back, Weidman will have to work for what he gets but he's good enough to do it.

Long time fan of Moose and he seems to be really hitting his peak right now. Unfortunately, bad timing for Moose. The Chris has his back against the wall in this fight and will probably bring everything he's got. It could go either way but I think Weidman finds a way with Moose still earning points in a great fight.
