I feel like these last two years or so have been the worst for weight cutting in UFC history. Some people will say it's because of USADA and the IV ban, which is definitely a valid part of the explanation. But I also think the other side of the explanation has to do with Mike Dolce's declining popularity. There was a time when Mike Dolce was the go-to nutritionist for fighters. During this time I can't recall any of his fighters missing weight. Even the fighters who complained about his services made it to the scale on weight.

So how did someone who got such good results suddenly lose so much business? The MMA forums started shitting on Dolce. MMA fans started attacking him for not having a "revolutionary" nutritional philosophy and for being a "Bro scientist". And what's worse is that the fighters who followed the MMA forums started parroting the negative view of Dolce created by idiot MMA fans which ended up being the nail in the coffin. They were all ad-homenim attacks that lacked substance. It was besides the point that Dolce was a part of the bro culture or wasn't revolutionary because at the end of the day he did his job well and got his fighters on weight every time.

Now that Dolce has been pretty much removed from the UFC nutritional scene we need him more than ever. Say what you want about Dolce, but I guarantee you that if Dolce was AKA's weight cutting specialist Khabib's ass would have been on that scale and on fucking weight.

LMAO.

Between the name, the content and managing to get the dubs in 6 posts, this isn't likely to get a serious answer, even on Sherdog.

"USADA and the IV ban might be a valid explenation BUT I choose to believe it has more to do with fucking Mike Dolces declining popularity"

lmao'ing at ur life
if youre going to troll at least have the sense to make a short post.

Now we know Mike Dolces on Sherdog.

He's still got UFC clients, doesn't he? He gets a lot of shit, but it seemed like he was pretty good at getting fighters to make weight, by eating better. I dunno if Lockhart is better, but it seems lke any one doesn't talk shit about his approach.

This is so lame. Don't try so hard Dolce. ;)<45>

I have never "crapped" on Dolce. The people on this board who do look like Jenkins from South Park.

Yellow noob.

Also IV.

Dolce had Ronda looking fit at UFC207, and Ronda is not an easy cut to 135. She is a big 145er.

If the fighters took their careers more seriously there wouldn't be a weight cutting issue. Maybe don't gain too much weight between fights so come fight week the weight cut goes well and nobody loses their titleshot or contender spot. These are supposed to be professional fighters, they should know by now how much weight they can safely lose for their weight class.

I never crapped on Dolce. He's basically just bringing common sense and diets to people. I crap on the people who pay him a thousand dollars a week or whatever for stuff they could figure out in 10 hours on the Internet.
