I don't think it was/is a pain thing for Nick. He's tough as hell. I think that it relaxes him and puts him in a zone of sorts. It allows him to block out the anxiety of fighting in public. I'm torn on this b/c if he has some social anxiety or ADHD he could get a TUE for a drug. But since it's "weed" he's not allowed to use it even though it's more natural.

There is no science backing that and it's kinda just one of the many made up reasons to perscribe pot. Marijuana does very little for pain. It might relax you if you're in discomfort, but it isn't going to block out the pain like pain killers.

The main actual medical benefit of marijuana is to help with nausea.
