... he knocked the champion down in the second round, then proceeded to get knocked down seven times over the next four rounds, the last one resulting in a knock out.

His name was Pete Rademacher and the champ was Floyd Patterson.

Rademacher was an amateur boxer with a record of 72-7. He had won several Golden Gloves tournament and had just won the Gold Medal at the Olympics when he stated he would become the first boxer to win a world title on his professional debut. Patterson took him up on his offer.

Could we see a repeat with McGregor and Mayweather? McGregor in 2? Mayweather in 6?

An olympic medalist amateur boxer with a 72-7 record would probably knock down McGregor 7 times in one ROUND, Conor would die of brain hemorrhaging before he made it to a fourth one. More importantly, both of the boxers in your scenario have 1000x the talent and experience of McGregor, yet STILL neither of them would come anywhere near the same stratosphere of boxing skill as Mayweather regardless. The only people who say McGregor has even a puncher's chance are the people who've never boxed or sparred in a combat sport before. When your opponent is potentially the most technically sound boxer in human history and you don't even have 1 professional bout under your resume there is no such thing as a puncher's chance, the only outcome is humiliation. If you think differently, just look at how well Canelo faired, a top 3 p4p world champion boxer, someone infinitely more skilled, AND a much harder, faster puncher than Conor is.

What's Conor's amateur boxing record? Did he box in the olympics?

was when Mayweathers's baby momma told him she didn't feel like doing the dishes.

Rademacher was light years ahead of Conor as a boxer, and Floyd is far superior to the then 22 year old Patterson.

Man you guys are beyond retarded. Have any of you watched Floyd fight? He has the best defensive stats in boxing history. How is an amateur going to be competitive against that? Fuck, you mma fans are dumb as shit
